Pakistan made a new history in the T20 World Cup 2021 with five consecutive victories and the batsmen also set many records. In the match against Scotland in Sharjah, Pakistan won by 72 runs to clinch its fifth victory in the event round and retain the unbeaten title.
This is the first time in the history of Pakistan cricket that the Pakistan team has qualified for the semi-finals without losing a single round match in any World Cup. Earlier, the Pakistan team was unbeaten in any international event, including the 1975 ODI World Cup and the T20 World Cup.

On the other hand, veteran Pakistani all-rounder Shoaib Malik became the fastest Pakistani to score a half-century in the T20 World Cup. In the match played in Sharjah, Shoaib Malik batted aggressively to give Pakistan access to a total of 189 runs.
Shoaib Malik hit an unbeaten 54 off just 18 balls with six sixes and a four. This is the fastest half-century made by Pakistan in the T20 World Cup where the previous record was held by Umar Akmal who made fifty off 21 balls against Australia in 2010. Shoaib Malik also equaled the record for the fastest half-century in 18 balls in the current World Cup set by India’s KL Rahul against Scotland.
Babar Azam’s record half a century:
National team captain Babar Azam played a strong 66-run innings against Scotland in Pakistan’s last group match of the World Cup, his fourth half-century in the T20 World Cup, which is a record.
With this half-century, Babar Azam equaled the record of former Australian opener and current Pakistani batting coach Matthew Hayden and Indian captain Virat Kohli for scoring four half-centuries in an ICC event.

Matthew Hayden scored four half-centuries in the 2007 World Cup, while Kohli did so in Sri Lanka in 2014. However, Babar Azam has a chance to break the record as the semi-final will be played against Australia on November 11.
At the same time, Babar Azam has broken Virat Kohli’s record of scoring the most half-centuries in T20 cricket in a single year. So far this year, Babar Azam has scored 19 half-centuries in T20 cricket, bringing the total number of half-centuries to 17, including two centuries in T20 cricket.
In the previous year in T20 cricket, Virat Kohli had scored 18 half-centuries or longer innings in 2016, including four centuries.
West Indies Chris Gayle scored 16 half-centuries in 2012, while national team opener Muhammad Rizwan also came in fourth with 15 half-centuries so far this year. Babar Azam also holds the record for most half-centuries in T20 as captain, where he has surpassed Virat Kohli.
Babar Azam has scored 15 half-centuries as captain so far, Virat Kohli has scored 13 half-centuries, Aaron Finch of Australia and Ken Williamson of New Zealand have scored 11 and 11 half-centuries respectively.
