IQAir, a real-time air quality information platform located in Switzerland, has listed Delhi as the world’s most polluted city, with an air quality index (AQI) of 656 as of 2:45 pm on Monday, which is classified as “hazardous.”
An AQI of 0 to 50 is considered healthy. Anything above 300 is considered “dangerous” and necessitates an immediate reaction. When the AQI rises above a certain level, health experts advise people to stay indoors and close their windows and doors.

Lahore, Punjab’s capital, comes in second place on the list of the world’s five most polluted cities, with severely bad air quality. The government has decided to take action against people who damage the air and atmosphere by burning crops, polluting waste, and releasing industrial and vehicular pollutants, and has instructed the appropriate authorities to enforce Section 144 across the province. So that pollutants may be dealt with, put in place.
Section 144 prohibits the burning of agricultural leftovers and waste across the province for one month beginning October 6.
