Former spin wizard Saqlain Mushtaq has been named temporary head coach and Shahid Aslam has been named assistant coach for the Pakistan cricket team by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).Both assignments are exclusively for the T20 World Cup, according to the board.
The board had previously named Matthew Hayden, an Australian batting icon, as a batting consultant, and Vernon Philander, a South African legend, as a bowling consultant.Philander has joined the T20 World Cup squad in Lahore, where they have been quarantined since today, while Hayden will join the squad in the United Arab Emirates.
After being tested for coronavirus, the athletes will be isolated for one day. Those who have positive findings will have to spend more time in isolation, and if they don’t get two negative tests before the departure on October 15, they will be cut from the squad.The squad will begin preparations for the event on Sunday at the National High-Performance Centre (NHPC).
The PCB, on the other hand, announced adjustments to Pakistan’s T20 World Cup team, including the inclusion of Sarfaraz Ahmed, Haider Ali, and Fakhar Zaman. Azam Khan, Mohammad Hasnain, and Khushdil Shah will be replaced by the three.
