Asif Ali Voted As ICC Player Of The Year

The ICC Player of the Month Awards, which recognise and celebrate the finest performances from both male and female cricketers across all forms of international cricket throughout the year, were revealed on Tuesday by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Asif Ali, a hard-hitting Pakistani batsman, has been named the ICC Player of the Month for October. Ali won the men’s trophy over Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan and Namibia’s David Wiese, while Delany won the women’s medal over teammate Gaby Lewis and Zimbabwe’s Mary-Anne Musonda.

Ali went undefeated in three matches for Pakistan at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in October, scoring with a strike rate of 273.68.

He made headlines during the tournament when he hit 27 not out off 12 balls to help Pakistan beat New Zealand, but it was what he did in the following game that cemented his reputation. Ali blasted four sixes in the 19th over with Pakistan needing 24 runs off the final two overs against Afghanistan.

Irfan Pathan, a member of the ICC Voting Academy, said of Ali’s performance, “Helping your team win, especially from the jaws of loss, is what makes Asif Ali remarkable.” And he didn’t just do it once; he did it again. Despite scoring far less than the other two nominees, his participation and the high-pressure circumstances in which he grabbed victory made all the difference.”

Delany shined in Ireland’s 3-1 ODI series victory over Zimbabwe. With bat and ball, the all-rounder shone, hitting 189 runs at 63 and taking four wickets at 27. Laura Delany, on the other side, was named the ICC Player of the Month for October.

“Laura has been playing international cricket for nearly a decade and has the arduous duty of captaining her country, which carries a significant weight of expectation,” ICC Voting Academy member Lisa Sthalekar remarked of Delany’s performance. I’ve been following her career since I used to play with her at the Gordon Women’s Club in Sydney and saw her progress. She had a breakout series in which she was able to record her best ODI score and is a deserving recipient of the ICC Women’s Player of the Month award for October.”

In three matches for Pakistan at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in October, he scored 52 runs without conceding a wicket, with a strike rate of 273.68. Irfan Pathan, a member of the ICC Voting Academy, believes that what makes Asif Ali remarkable is his ability to help Pakistan win, especially when they are in the “jaws of loss.”

“Although he scored far less than the other two nominated players, his participation and the pressure moments in which he grabbed victory made all the difference,” Pathan added.

“Shortly after them, a Pakistani team from Hushe Mountaineering School, commanded by Ali Durani and featuring Muhammad Hassan, Mushtaq Ahmad, and Usuf Meeri, summited the mountain and hoisted the green flag,” Haidri stated.

Kashif Salman, Shehroz’s father, told APP that his son had really broken two world records. “K2 has been successfully climbed by him.” I am pleased to inform you that he has established two world records. He has climbed Mount Everest and K2 in less than three months, becoming the first youngster to accomplish it. He insisted, “This is a glorious time for Pakistan.”

Pakistan’s Female Traffic Police Warden Wins Best Performance Award In UN Mission

Salma Abdul Ghani, the first women warden of the City Traffic Police, left on a UN mission to represent Pakistan on Saturday.
Salma will be the Pakistani police representative in Sudan.
The country was chosen for the operation after nine years, according to the police. The UN mission will be led by DSP Muhammad Khan of the Lahore Police Department, who will be joined by 12 cops from Punjab and 27 from throughout the nation.
In an interview with the media, Ghani expressed her delight at being a part of the expedition. This is the first time a traffic police warden has been chosen for a mission; it took her 14 years and countless examinations to get to this point.

http://fabulouspakistan.com/

My parents’ support is the cause for my success and determination, she stated. They have supported me throughout my life, and now is the time for me to repay their loyalty. The appointment of the first female officer was applauded by CTO Hammad, who stated it was a question of respect for the whole force.

The prize is the pinnacle of Ms. Gulfam’s career, which began in 1985 when she joined the Pakistani police force.

“I was born in a rural Pakistani hamlet in a primarily patriarchal environment,” she explained. “Despite all the obstacles, I chose to work as a police officer.” It was a difficult assignment in and of itself.”

Ms. Gulfam began her career with the Punjab Police Department, where she worked in the investigative unit. After that, she joined the Punjab Highway Patrol, where she helped to improve the province’s traffic infrastructure.

Ms. Gulfam was Pakistan’s first female police officer to be assigned to a United Nations peacekeeping operation in 1997. In 1999, she was assigned to Kosovo after working in Bosnia.

“I feel I became a role model for local women in Bosnia and Kosovo, and my example pushed others to join the police force… Atifete Jahjaga, Kosovo’s recently elected President, is a former police officer. Her experience demonstrates that the glass ceiling can be cracked and broken.” Ms. Gulfam also served as the commander of the Pakistani police presence in Timor-Leste, where she oversaw 27 personnel.

She is now the UNPOL Team Leader in charge of the Vulnerable Person Unit (VPU) in Dili, the capital. Since 2007, there had been 411 cases undergoing investigation when she arrived. Ms. Gulfam has already solved over 70 cases in a year.

She is responsible for receiving and acting on complaints from vulnerable individuals, including women, children, and persons with disabilities, as a UNPOL officer. Ms. Gulfam has taken on VPU tasks such as obtaining medical aid for victims of child abuse and domestic violence, as well as handling human trafficking concerns, in addition to her “regular” police job.

http://fabulouspakistan.com/

“Timor-Leste is a typical post-conflict culture, with widespread domestic violence,” Ms. Gulfam noted, adding that her job is made more difficult when victims refuse to submit their crimes to the police.

Many victims refuse to testify because they are frightened of their rights or are uninformed of them. As a result, Ms. Gulfam has conducted public awareness campaigns about the 2010 Timorese law declaring domestic abuse a public offence, as well as increased outreach to victims through collaboration with NGOs. Two officers were nominated for the prize by each UN peacekeeping operation. Ms. Gulfam was taken aback by her selection and praised her commanding commanders and PNTL colleagues.

“My hope is that I may help the Timorese in some way.” When the news first broke, I was away from the assignment. “When I got the news, I leaped,” she added. “To be honest, it was a dream come true.” The IAWP was recommended to me by a friend. When I looked it up, I saw all the women from Europe, Canada, and the United States, and I knew I’d never win.”

Lahore Is The Second Most Polluted City In The World

On Monday, global air quality monitors ranked Pakistan’s Lahore as the world’s second most polluted city.
IQAir, a real-time air quality information platform located in Switzerland, has listed Delhi as the world’s most polluted city, with an air quality index (AQI) of 656 as of 2:45 pm on Monday, which is classified as “hazardous.”
An AQI of 0 to 50 is considered healthy. Anything above 300 is considered “dangerous” and necessitates an immediate reaction. When the AQI rises above a certain level, health experts advise people to stay indoors and close their windows and doors.

Lahore, Punjab’s capital, comes in second place on the list of the world’s five most polluted cities, with severely bad air quality. According to statistics released by the American Air Quality Index, air pollution in India’s capital New Delhi preceded the Kyrgyz capital Bishkek on Sunday, with the Indian city of Calcutta ranking fourth and China’s capital Beijing ranking fifth. According to data, the number of hazardous particles in the air of Lahore is 188, putting the city on the list of cities with a “unhealthy” atmosphere.

If the air quality index (AQI) is less than 50, the air is healthy, according to the US Environmental Protection Agency. Smoke from automobiles and industry has been prevalent in the city for many years, according to a report produced by the Food and Agriculture Organization and environmentalists, and is not solely generated by burning crop waste. “Air quality in Lahore is quite awful, it is getting tough to stay healthy amid this pollution,” a resident tweeted, expressing concern over the city’s air quality.

Lahore has extremely high levels of air pollution, and it routinely ranks among the top cities in the IQ Air Air Visuals’ direct pollution rating of major cities.
However, when air quality data was disclosed for the first time in Pakistan in early 2017, the public became aware of the escalating pollution for the first time.
When official data was not made public, people set up a network of sensors to monitor harmful particles in the air, commonly known as PM2.5, and report the results in real-time.

The government has decided to take action against people who damage the air and atmosphere by burning crops, polluting waste, and releasing industrial and vehicular pollutants, and has instructed the appropriate authorities to enforce Section 144 across the province. So that pollutants may be dealt with, put in place.

Section 144 prohibits the burning of agricultural leftovers and waste across the province for one month beginning October 6.
