Partnerships To Bring Microsoft And Meta Teams And Workplaces Together

Microsoft and Meta (previously Facebook) have teamed together to allow the two businesses to connect solutions geared for office employees. Microsoft Teams and Facebook Workplace will collaborate to deliver live videos from Teams to workplace groups. This functionality eliminates the need for Thames or Workplace users to switch applications to attend real-time meetings. Microsoft will integrate the workplace into the Thames, allowing platform users to access workplace material through the Thames app.
The app will have a Thames navigation bar homepage and workplace content and the ability for Microsoft managers to identify office material as critical.

“One of the things we need to understand is that no one communication tool in the world can move ahead; people select from a variety of options, so we think one,” said Jeff Tapper, Microsoft 365’s general manager. We must ensure that they all get along as a responsible organization.
The collaboration between WorkPlus and Microsoft Teams is a novel one for both organizations. SharePoint, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Office 365 Suite already include WorkPlace.
In December, the Microsoft Teams service will be integrated into the Meta Portal (Facebook Portal), allowing users to utilize it for group video chatting.

Businesses may share workplace material with the Thames starting November 10, according to the startup, and live broadcasting will be accessible in early 2022. Microsoft also provides Yammer, an enterprise social network software that competes more directly with Meta’s Workplace service than Teams. Yammer’s use had increased year over year in August, with “tens of millions of monthly active users,” according to Microsoft.

Workplace includes connectors with Microsoft’s Office 365, SharePoint, Azure Active Directory, OneDrive, and now Teams, but Singh claimed there isn’t one with Yammer. “In terms of community, connection, people first, and servicing all workers, I would say we’re best in class,” Singh added. “Teams is perhaps best in class in terms of productivity, so this is truly two best-in-class technologies combining to solve an issue with employee experience.”
