WhatsApp has been working to improve voice message support on its platform by giving users additional features including a playback speed slider and consecutive voice messages. It was previously reported that the platform is testing a transcription function that may turn an audio communication into text, making it easier for consumers to grasp.
Users will be able to listen to voice notes even after exiting conversations, thanks to a new feature being developed by the instant messaging company.
According to WABetaInfo, the firm has named this new feature the “global voice message player” since it will be pinned to the top of the app when you are listening to a voice message and reading other chats. At any moment, users will be able to pause and dismiss a voice message.
At this time, the upgrade is allegedly being developed for beta testers. Along with iOS, WhatsApp is anticipated to introduce the global voice messaging player to Android in the near future.
“This feature was noticed during the development of WhatsApp beta for iOS (thus it’s still not accessible), but WhatsApp is apparently aiming to release the same functionality on WhatsApp beta for Android as well,” WABetainfo stated.
